League Settings & Rules
Welcome to our 3rd season - 2023 Knockout Baseball. Firstly, thanks to everyone who played last year, the year before, and that joins my other leagues, it is nice to have a solid core to fill leagues quickly.
This season, the league will run the same way, but instead of a Total Season points, I will run it as Head to Head Points, your Head to Head record will not matter, it will just be total points per elimination stage. Remember, every elimination stage your score resets to 0. Example: Week 1: Team A scores: 400. Team B scores: 350. Week 2: Team A scores 250. Team B scores: 350. After week 2: Team A would be eliminated having a combined score of 650, Team B would advance with a combined score of 700.
League size needs to be at least 12 teams, 16 being ideal and 20 being max. Elimination weeks and # of teams going out each elimination stage will vary based on league size.
Example with 16 teams as we will shoot to use 22 weeks.
Week 1-3 Combined scores: After week 2: Eliminate 2 lowest scores. 14 teams remain. Week 4-6 Combined scores: After week 6: Eliminate 2 lowest scores. 12 teams remain. Week 7-10: Eliminate 2 lowest scores. 10 teams remain. Week 11-13: Eliminate 2 lowest scores. 8 teams remain Week 14-16: Eliminate 2 lowest scores. 6 teams remain. Week 17-19: Eliminate 2 lowest sores. 4 teams remain. Week 20-22: 4 Team Playoff. The final scores from these 3 weeks will determine the champion, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. Payouts generally go to top 3, 16 x $50 = $800 1st: 480 2nd: 240 3rd: 80

Majority Approval
All league members will be given an opportunity to vote on the commissioner's assigned end-of-season winnings. Funds will be distributed to league winners in accordance with the commissioner's assigned payouts unless a majority of league members vote against the allocation.Payouts: 60% - 30% - 10% assuming 16+ entries
Payouts will be revisited if less than 16 teams.
