The Revamped NFL

We are making a parallel league to the NFL in the sense of the 32 teams and divisional matchups, etc. with flexes and IDP

League Settings & Rules

League Info:

Setup- This league is a 32-team SuperFlex TE Premium with IDP

Payment- This league is a $50 per year league that will charge $100 as a deposit to penalize those that leave the league early. After the initial $100, an additional $50 will be charged every year after. All payments will be done through LeaueSafe

Draft- Will be decided as soon as all the payments have been made. There will be an hour per pick. We will be pausing the draft between 10 pm and 10 am

Roster- We set up the league to be a 1RB, 1WR, 1TE, 4Flex, and 1SF With an IDP of 2DL, 2LB, 2DB and 2IDP Flex with 14 bench spots and 5 taxi.

Divisions and Schedule- There will be 2 divisions with 7 teams each. There will be no specifics on the scheduling. This is just to give a more AFC/NFC feel for the league. After every two years, the divisional teams will shuffle. Divisions will be organized by the draft order as follows, odd numbers are in the AFC and even numbers in the NFC

Activity- League Members must have lineups set weekly and whenever a team misses a roster spot fill (after the week is finished), they will receive a warning from the commissioner. Only exceptions are last minute injuries that FORCE you not to play anyone. If there was an eligible player on your roster, you will be penalized. Three warnings and I’ll be forced to look for a new owner. No refund will be given once the draft commences. A new owner will be looked for while the current owner will be ghosted for the season. In the meantime the orphan team will be managed by the commish until a new one is found. This is all to promote an active league where we can enjoy each competitive week

Playoff Format- The 4 teams that win their division get the top 4 seeds and tiebreakers will be firstly by record and the other tiebreaker will be total points scored (if needed). Another 8 “wildcard” teams will make the playoffs to face the higher seeds with the same tiebreakers as above. In total, 16 teams make the playoffs to compete for the title. The other 8 lottery teams will compete in a losers bracket that will have no significance to the draft order but the winner will get a bonus $15 (just an incentive to compete during playoff time)

Rookie Draft Order- The draft order will be a mix of two systems. For the non-playoff teams, the order will be decided by the max pf per team. The lowest max pf team that missed the playoffs getting the 1st overall pick and the highest max pf that missed the playoffs rounding it off with the 8th pick (helps prevent tanking and improves the team that was statistically the weakest). The remaining 8 playoff teams will have their pick decided by which round they lost in and their end of season standings (in that order). An example is if a team makes it to the second round and finished 7-7, they will have a worse pick than the team that lost in the first round with a 10-2 record. If two teams lose in the same round with similar records, their max pf will serve as the tiebreaker. I have found this system to penalize tanking and promote competitiveness. The draft will be a linear draft like most traditional leagues. There will be 7 supplemental draft picks per team each year (Use them wisely)

Taxi- There will be five slots to accommodate five picks out of the seven each team is awarded every season. Taxi slots will be free to switch up throughout the whole season. Taxi is only for rookies and by the next year you must clear out those taxi spots.

FA- After the draft you will have chances to bid for Free Agents. Each team has $200 FAAB to spend. Monday will be the only day where you don’t have to set a waiver claim on players. This will allow for more flexibility with last minute injuries. FAAB applies until the last day of the nfl playoffs, then the league will be paused until the rookie draft comes up.

Trades- All trades will be processed upon acceptance. If the league or commissioners see it as unfair, then the trade will be undone. You may trade players but not your FAAB. Trading future picks is allowed as long as you’ve paid the dues for that year in advance. The main reason is to make sure teams that leave premature and have spent all capital will allow the next team to rebuild without having to pay all of the dues. Trade deadline will commence Week 13 until the end of the Super Bowl

Winnings- The winnings will be broken down from a pot of $1600

1st: 500 2nd: 250 3rd: 200 4th: 150 5th: 125 6th: 100 7th: 75 8th: 50 9th: 25 10th-16th: 15 Winner of Losers Bracket: 20

Rule Changes- Rules will be set to a revote before the start of a season if deemed fit by the league. 2/3rds of the league most approve for the change to go through. If there is a big need for a change in the middle of the season, an exception will be made but will not be common practice. In that very specific case it would have to be at least 75% of the league that approves the change. Many league decisions will be conducted through polls. If you would like a rule change, suggest it before the startup when the league starts to fill up as that is when a lot of these managerial decisions for the league will be made, not after the start of the draft.
